I am Dr. Islam Hamed Ali, a distinguished Reservoir Sedimentologist and Authorized Trainer based in Cairo, Egypt. I earned my Ph.D. in Carbonate Reservoir Characterization from Al-Azhar University in 2024, following my Master’s degree in Clastic Reservoir Characterization and my Bachelor’s degree in Geology.
Since January 2016, I have been the Task Force Team Leader for the Zohr Field at Petroshorouk, a joint venture with Eni. In July 2023, I was appointed Assistant General Manager of Deep-Water Sedimentological Studies at Belayim Petroleum Company. My career spans various roles, including Senior Sedimentologist and Geologist at Horus Geoscience Ltd.
I have a proven track record in designing and implementing appraisal and development programs, conducting reservoir characterization, and managing coring operations. My expertise covers both clastic and carbonate reservoirs, where I apply advanced technologies and methodologies to optimize reservoir performance.
Additionally, I serve as a reviewer for scientific publications at the Science Publishing Group in New York and the Bilingual Publishing Group in Singapore.
I am actively contributing to the field of geosciences with multiple publications in reputable journals. My notable works include studies on the reservoir characterization of Cretaceous carbonate reservoirs and the influence of mineralogical composition on reservoir quality.
Committed to knowledge sharing, I have conducted specialized courses in sedimentology and petrography and completed numerous professional development programs to enhance my skills in various geological and sedimentological techniques.
