Ahmed's remarkable 37-year career at Schlumberger, culminating in his role as a freelance instructor, showcases a profound expertise in open hole and cased hole evaluation, Wireline and Logging While Drilling (LWD) technologies. With a solid educational foundation in Electrical Engineering from Cairo University, where he graduated with first-class honors, Ahmed embarked on a journey that would see him become a revered figure in the petrophysical domain.

Beginning his career as a Wireline Field Engineer in 1981, Ahmed swiftly gained practical experience across diverse environments in Qatar, Egypt, and India. His roles covered a wide spectrum of activities including land, offshore, open hole, cased hole, and production logging. This extensive field experience not only deepened his technical skills but also equipped him with a firsthand understanding of the intricacies and challenges of petrophysical data acquisition and analysis.

Progressing through various technical and managerial positions within Schlumberger, Ahmed demonstrated a knack for innovation and leadership. As a Wireline Account Manager and later a New Technology Business Development Manager, he was pivotal in introducing and supporting new logging technologies that enhanced the capabilities of oilfield explorations and operations.

In 2001, Ahmed took on the role of DCS Operations Manager in Kuwait, where he launched and grew the DCS business, significantly contributing to the largest Integrated Project Management (IPM) study in the region by 2005. His subsequent roles as Principal Instructor and LWD Petrophysics Domain Champion for regions including Kuwait, Iraq, and Oman, underscored his reputation as a master educator and technical expert, where he provided invaluable technical support and led training initiatives to bolster the proficiency of Schlumberger’s staff and clients globally.

Since retiring from Schlumberger in 2018, Ahmed has been imparting his vast knowledge and experience as a freelance instructor, specializing in open hole and cased hole logging and interpretation courses. His training covers a broad spectrum of essential skills, from the basics of perforation to advanced logging while drilling, tailored for professionals seeking to excel in the oil and gas industry’s evolving landscape.
