Dr. BENZID YACINE, a geologist and scientific researcher at the Territory Planning Research Center (CRAT) since June 2024, member of the natural disaster prevention, mitigation, and digital mapping division.

Earned a Bachelor's degree (2007) and a Master's degree (2009) in Environmental Geology from the University of Constantine-1, followed by a Doctorate (2017) in Geo-hazards and Geo-materials, with a thesis titled "Neotectonic Study of Zighout Youcef Area: Morpho-structural Analysis and Photo Interpretation".

Research interests include Geological risk assessment, Structural geology, Neotectonics, Geo-mapping and Spatial analysis.

A skilled professional in Petroleum geology, Reservoir engineering, and Formation evaluation, with over 13 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, as a Consultant Geologist in drilling and completion fluids technology.
Initially hired by HALLIBURTON-BAROID in 2011 as a Fluids engineer, working with various clients, including BRITISH PETROLEUM & STATOIL (In Salah), PETROCELTIC (Illizi), and BRITISH GAS (Timimoun).
Worked with the EGYPTIAN MUD ENGINEERING & CHEMICALS COMPANY (EMEC) and GREAT WALL DRILLING COMPANY (GWDC) as a Lead fluids engineer in the Berkine Basin and In Amenas field from 2014 to 2018.
Joined BAKER HUGHES as a Senior drilling fluids engineer in 2019. Promoted in 2021 as a field supervisor, responsible for workover and short-radius drilling operations and related logistics in the TFT oil field (Illizi Basin) until May 2024.
