Сосуды под давлением – это контейнеры, которые предназначены для хранения жидкостей, паров или газов под высоким давлением, обычно выше 4,5 м на квадратный дюйм. К обычным сосудам под давлением, используемым в нефтеперерабатывающей и химической промышленности, включают, помимо прочего, резервуары для хранения, котлы и теплообменники, химические реакторы, аккумуляторные баки, автоклавы, химические адсорбционные сосуды и криогенные вакуумные камеры (Раздел VIII, раздел 1 Кодекса ASME)
