Dr. Islam Hamed Ali

A geoscientist and reservoir sedimentologist with 19 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, bringing extensive expertise across both clastic and carbonate reservoir domains. Holds a Master’s degree in Petroleum Geology with a specialization in clastic reservoir characterization, and a PhD in Petroleum Geology focused on carbonate reservoir characterization.

Possesses strong technical expertise in reservoir characterization, facies analysis, reservoir modeling, reservoir studies, field development planning, and prospect evaluation. Demonstrates advanced capability in log interpretation, including NMR analysis and its integration with conventional logs, as well as substantial experience in core analysis using both conventional and advanced logging techniques. Proficient in the use of industry-standard software, including DSD, Techlog, and Petrel.

Currently involved in the study and modeling of both clastic and carbonate reservoirs to support effective reservoir management and successful field development.

In addition to technical and operational expertise, has a strong background in education and professional training, having delivered specialized courses in sedimentology and petrography at various training centers. Has also contributed to the scientific community as a reviewer for publications with Science Publishing Group in New York, USA, and the Journal of Environmental and Earth Sciences under the Bilingual Publishing Group in Singapore.
