Financial Analyst

Purpose: 

To ensure proper control over Value of Work Done (VOWD) and accruals for Manpower Business units (BUs) and particular G&A Non-Manpower BUs. Maintenance of company Chart of Accounts. 

Accountabilities and Responsibilities: 

  • Producing VOWD for Non–Labour BUs associated with Insurance, Inventory variations, Non-Recoverable costs. 

  • Reviewing Manpower monthly rates, Tariffs and expenditures. Assist on a number of minor non-Labour BUs. 

  • Ensuring commitment are allocated correctly to budget cost centres. 

  • Monitoring Manpower Cost and adjust accounting entries when required. 

  • Verification of Manpower related accruals. 

  • Preparing Monthly G&A cost reports. 

  • Analysing, appraising and reporting on Budget vs. Actuals. 

  • Ensuring accounting structure is kept updated and adjust for organisational changes. 

  • In conjunction with the budget holders coordinate, set up and facilitate yearly budgeting exercise for departmental budgets. 

  • Loading Budgets into JDE as and when required. 

  • Development and enhancement of standard Cognos reports as required. Preparation of ad hoc reports as and when required. 

  • To assist both internal and external auditors. 

  • Finance Intranet Maintenance (upload Finance documents, design modification). 

  • Providing support to Finance and HR groups regarding the ERP System.

  • Corporate Health, Safety & Environment Policy, and applying company Safety Management Systems. 

Main Interfaces: 

Company: 

Liaison with HR Administrator/Advisers, Budget Holders. 

External: 

Liaison with Consultants and Auditors when applicable. 

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial analysis and reporting, process controls. 

Required Competencies: 

  • Good understanding of accounting and reporting. 

  • Knowledge of both Project and Corporate cost control procedures. 

  • Computer literate on Microsoft programs: Word, Access, PowerPoint and Excel, as well as JDE, Cognos, SmartStream or equivalent packages. 

  • Ability to initiate and promote the discipline of Cost Engineering with Budget Holders and Senior Management. 

  • Ability to create/update and initiate cost control procedures to reflect the Company’s requirements.
